What’s been happening:

Following graduation from Pennsylvania State in 1941, was selected as a US Federal-state inspector for processing and shipment of fruits and vegetables. April 1942, enlisted in the USMC. Following basic training, attended Navy Radio School, then Officer Candidate School at Quantico, VA. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant, attended the USA Radio School at Fort Monmouth, NJ for high-frequency radios, then Air Warning Communications school. Served first at USMC MADC-1 at Cherry Point, NC, then AWS-14 at Columbia, SC as a Communications Officer. In 1945 went to Eniwetokk Atoll, then Okinawa and Japan with the 2nd Marine Air Wing. Completed the war as a Captain and remained in the Marine Reserves for four years. In 1947 joined Berks-LeHigh Coop. as a field man. Moved on to a position as the packhouse superintendent for Trexler Farms, shipping apples, peaches and grapes. Left this position to attend graduate school at NC State. In 1951, accepted a job with The J.E. Baker Co. of York, PA that was to become my career for the bulk of my working life. Until 1954, supervised the maintenance of Baker's apple and cherry orchards in Mt. Wolf, PA and Inwood, WV. Went on to a position in Sales in the Rock Products Division, responsible for the promotion and sale of Baker agricultural products and industrial lime products. Promoted to Supervisor of Sales and Customer Service in 1980.
